Money talks & contracts walk: get to know the business side of movie-making

In our Accounting, Finance, and Law department, we handle everything that keeps the project running behind the scenes. With just the two of us as part of the department, we manage the project’s budget, secure financing, and ensure every decision is made towards the long-term sustainability of the project. We are also responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing all contracts and official documents necessary for operating the project firm. From financial strategy to legal compliance, we make sure that the business side is as strong and reliable as the creative one. Without us, the project would have the ideas — but not the means to make them real.


Here are our main learnings as members of this department:
Camelia Hodorogea: During this semester, my main learning was that prioritising tasks and time management mean everything - every project requires a well-put together task schedule, or else you won’t get anything done within deadline.
Ilinca-Alexandra Cheșcu: My main learning is that it’s important to be aware of your big goal, and go down planning from there. It is difficult to structure your work without knowing what you are working for, or what the final result should look like. And also, a good result requires a lot of dedication and perseverance!
